The Regulation on the new digital tachograph specifications has been published last 27th of May. The tachograph is a device that records the driving time, breaks, rest periods as well as periods of other work undertaken by a driver.

SEOUL, KOREA (25th - 26th May 2016). The 10th CITA RAG Asia/Australasia meeting has been hosted by KOTSA in Seoul with the theme ‘New Inspection Schemes’. Korea Transportation Safety Authority has been working for the development of transportation safety management by reducing traffic accident rates in the road, railway, and aviation. Thanks to vehicle safety research, transportation safety investigation research, and advanced transportation information system it aims at developing a sustainable future of transportation.

CITA is pleased to announce its new workshop: “The Role of Multilateral Finance in Road Safety” that will be held the 27th of June 2016 in Brussels.
This workshop is an opportunity for CITA Members to learn what the International Financial Institutions finance for road safety in emerging and developing countries and also learn about the type of activities they support.

(15th April 2016) Acting without a vote, the UN General Assembly and its Member States adopted a resolution on "Improving global road safety"(document A/70/L.44) expressing concern that road traffic crashes killed more than 1.25 million people and injured as many as 50 million people a year.
This wide-ranging and detailed resolution calls on the international community to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals agenda on road safety as well as the Decade of Action for Road Safety.

TOLEDO, SPAIN (4th – 5th May 2016). AECA-ITV, the Spanish association representing 54 organisations performing mandatory periodical technical of in-use vehicles in Spain, has organized the ITV Spanish Congress on May 4th and 5th 2016 in Toledo.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the congress had the attendance of local authorities, together with foreign and international institutions and CITA. A book has been given to the attendees to commemorate the event.
The main topics of the congress were the new legal framework at national, European and international level; pollutant emissions; the new technologies; road safety, social communication and inspector training.
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM (20th April 2016) Invited by the MEP Mr. Ertug, member of EMIS committee (Emission Measurement in the Automotive Sector), CITA has presented, during a working lunch on sustainable emissions testing, the results and conclusions of the SET study at the European Parliament.
