How to improve the safety of goods vehicles in the EU?

Yesterday, 14 December 2020, ETSC organized a PIN Online Talk entitled: “How to improve the safety of goods vehicles in the EU?”.

The event focused on the safety of goods vehicles in the EU, looking at goods vehicle safety but also the safety of goods vehicle drivers and all other road users.

Earlier this year, ETSC has published its PIN Flash report on goods vehicles in the EUcordially supported by CITA. This report looks at the toll transport of goods and services has taken in terms of road deaths over the period 2010 to 2018. It examines the performance of individual countries, as well as the European Union as a whole, in tackling the risks, and describes some of the policies needed to reduce deaths and serious injuries in the future. At the heart of this report, as ever, are a set of disturbing figures that require urgent action.

During the event our CITA member VdTÜV gave a short presentation addressing the Periodic Technical Inspection and the work of CITA members as essential components of improving road safety.
