XXVIII Spanish Conference of Vehicle Technical Inspection

CITA President, Mr. Gerhard Müller, attended the XXVIII Spanish Conference of Vehicle Technical Inspection hosted by AECA-ITV (Spanish Association of Government Collaborating Companies in Vehicle Technical Inspection) , celebrated in Zaragoza, last 23 – 25 October.

The event brought together Ministry members, Traffic General Directorate responsible, vehicle emission experts, universities, vehicle brand representatives, vehicle inspection equipment brands, police, armed forces and private sector representatives from across the Europe and Ibero-America – more than 250 representatives from the vehicle inspection companies attended.

During these three days, the meeting focused on the different points of view from the experts in the following items:
– Currently Spanish PTI and vehicle refurbish regulations.
– Measure of NOx and PN – Suitable equipment for PTI.
– The next step of OBD diagnosis for PTI.
– GSR – New safety systems for vehicle.
– New vehicle technology – Autonomous vehicle projects
– Vehicle Technical Inspection in Armed forces and Police

Mr. Müller explained the results of CITA SET II project about the Sustainable Emission Test for diesel vehicles involving NOx measurements and the conclusion of European Commission study about the inclusion of e-Call in the periodic roadworthiness testing of motor vehicles.

This Conference fitted the lines to follow in the next future in order to increase the road safety and environment protection.
