ASAM – CITA: Manifest of Understanding

Last 16 September 2020, CITA and ASAM (Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems) agreed and signed a Manifest of Understanding that defines the framework for the collaboration between both organizations.

Acknowledging that standardized and non-discriminatory access to vehicle data is an essential condition for safe and clean vehicles, and recognizing that the fast evolution of vehicle and communication technologies challenges the standardization processes, the aim of this collaboration is to promote the understanding of the requirements for valid inspection and compliance of automated vehicles.

Moreover, it intends to facilitate the development of appropriate and efficient standardization schemes, and to foster the understanding of the mode of operation of automated vehicles.

About ASAM

ASAM is a non-profit organization that promotes standardization for tool chains in automotive development and testing. Their members are international car manufacturers, suppliers, tool vendors, engineering service providers and research institutes from the automotive industry.
