Aeca-ITV, in collaboration with the Government of the Community of Madrid, the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, Aema-ITV and the General Directorate of Traffic, has celebrated its 26th National Conference, held in Madrid the 17 and 18 May.During the Conference, experts have presented more than a dozen papers on various topics. Has been discussed also the innovations in the accreditation systems that ensure that the technical inspection of vehicles is independent and of quality.
During the event, representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and various associations such as AECA-ITV have announced the arrival of a new and important modification of the procedure manual that governs all vehicle technical inspection. Waiting to be approved by Royal Decree, this modification will entail an overall revision of the Inspection Procedure Manual both in terms of its contents and in its own structure and philosophy so that ITV’s national regulations comply with the requirements set out in the Directive EU 2014/45.
The conclusions, from both Aeca-ITV and the experts participating in the National ITV Days, are that there is enough technology to make a more exhaustive control of pollutant emissions and that more effective fraud detection in the form of illegal manipulations is possible.
