AA Ireland: a new CITA full member

Founded in 1910, AA Ireland is Ireland’s leading motoring organisation, with over 400,000 customers across our rescue service, motor, home and travel insurance products. The AA is a household name across Ireland when it comes to motoring, not only from our AA Roadwatch traffic information service, which provides national and local media with unrivalled content, but also our prominence as commentators on transport, road safety and motoring matters throughout Irish media.

We work as consultants to private and public organisations, and this work has grown since our first involvement with the Irish PTI, the National Car Test (NCT). AA Ireland was appointed as the Technical Audit Partner in 2000 to oversee the NCT at its inception by the Department of Transport (now overseen by its agency, the Road Safety Authority) and we continue to deliver this service to date. Our teams audit all PTI testing centres across the country ensuring the service is both quality assured and consistent in all locations. In addition we deliver the Independent Appeals Board on behalf of the Authority adjudicating on challenged test results by customers.

Our unique position as a motoring organisation that works with manufacturers, insurers and in the area of PTI auditing gives us a special insight into how these different stakeholders can and should work together for better outcomes and we’re eager to share our experience within the CITA family.
